Radioactive SymbolThe Lithuanian President and his Polish counterpart will discuss the energy security, including the Ignalina nuclear power station project and the energy bridge between Poland and Lithuania, The leaders are due to meet on the Polish Baltic coast on 27 and 28 August.

The Lithuanian president will be hosted by president Lech Kaczynski in his summer residence in Jurata in the Hel peninsula.

Lithuanian media have alleged recently that Poland has not made its decision yet on the participation in the proposed joint construction of a nuclear power station in Ignalina, Lithuania. Like Latvia and Estonia, Poland is not happy with the fact that Lithuania failed to consult the prospective partners in the project before adopting legislation that puts its share at 34 per cent, while giving only 22 per cent to each of the remaining countries.
