Gazprom is creating a private army… What!?

Gazprom soldiersIt appears that Gazprom, a state within the state, is becoming stronger not only financially.  From now the company will be able to ‘stretch its mussels’ in real terms.

Gazprom was given a permission by the Russian authorities to assemble an armed guard units to protect its gas pipes and instillations from terrorist attacks etc.  As far as it goes the guards will be able to carry the light guns and will obey to Gazprom HQ.  Effectively it is a private army, like those in the Central American drug Cartels.

This is the first step.  What is going to be the next step and step in strengthening the ‘security guards’?  What guns and powers this army will acquire in the due course?  This only indicates that Gazprom and Co. don’t trust the Russian law enforcement units, and they are not sure about their future.

What if the Kremlin/Gazprom intelligence sources will ‘unveil’ a plot of some sort of ‘Chechen terrorist’ trying to attack the Gazprom pipe lines somewhere in Hungary, Lithuania or on the Nord Stream.  Sending the Gazprom troops should follow, of course.  And if your government refuses the peaceful Gazprom’s army to ‘fulfil their professional duty’ it results in Gazprom blocking the gas delivery for the ‘security’ reasons to your country…  And that of course would take place in the midst of cold winter.  And this will happen when the West will be dependent on the Russian gas by 60%.You might say this is a fantasy, well.  If you live in the Baltics and know the history of this part of the world I would not say ‘never say never’.  There will be no tanks rolling in the streets, the methods are more gracious.  This time it could be the ‘Gazprom’s branch of anti-terrorist unite’ coming to help you…
