Why Grybauskaite will win in Lithuania’s Presidential elections

There are view readers who would like to know my opinion about Lithuanian Presidential elections I will have to be very brief, since I am still organising my honeymoon to Italy, which will start tomorrow…

So, only very few points I would like to make why Grybauskaite will win:

Yes, I think that Grybauskaite should win in the first round.

She is so popular because Grybauskaite is distant from the present political and economical establishment.  She is ‘above’ of the Lithuanian politics, similarly to the President Adamkus, who has lived in the USA for most of his life.

She is still an enigmatic personality for many Lithuanians and has acquired a reputation of being strict but fair during her term as the Lithuania’s Minister of Finances.

She has a tough character and has no political affiliations, at least in the Lithuanians’ eyes, and could project a mother figure image for many disappointed with the current economical situation.

There are no any alternatives during this presidential run, the other candidates will loose and they do not really try to campaign much, the end of the game is clear.

I will return back to Lithuania just on time to vote…

P.S. When I was going for my holiday to Sweden last year on the 8th of August the Georgian and Russian started.  Today, again, I am just about to leave and trouble in Georgia began…
