Poland interested in joining new Lithuania’s N-plant project, Kaczynski says

Ignalina N-PlantPresident of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus was on a two day working visit in Poland.

As the Lithuania’s President office informed Lech Kaczynski confirmed Poland’s interest to participate in the building of a new nuclear power plant. Presidents expressed hope that advanced technologies will be used ensuring integration of all Baltic States into the Union for the Co-ordination of Transmission of Electricity (UCTE).

Presidents agreed that a joint Lithuanian-Polish enterprise will be set up in the nearest future for the purpose of building the electricity bridge.

    As we all know, Poland declined this project. I think we can expect new N=plant in Poland now too. Its funny, now there will be 3 new Nuclear planets in region. One in Russia (Kaliningrad region, Lithuania and Poland)….will anyone consume all this?

    Gdansk to Klaipeda through Kaliningrad is only 373 kilometres (LESS THAN 300MILES!) – if now there will be 3 new Nuclear planets in region – one in Russia – (Kaliningrad region), Visaginas in Lithuania and let’s say Gdansk, Poland – then, that’s a shed load of nukes in one small space! Northern European countries will need to protect the energy source if we are to consume all this
